Dot .Mobi Domain Name
.mobi is a top-level domain approved by ICANN as a sponsored TLD. It will be restricted to mobile devices and sites providing services for them on the Mobile Web. It is sponsored by a consortium of companies including Google, Microsoft, Vodafone, Samsung, Ericsson and Nokia. As of November 2005, the domain had been added to the global internet root and was getting ready for its opening. Starting May 22, 2006 industry members can register a .mobi domain name, June 12 for trademark holders, and Aug. 28 general registration.

1. Schedule
* Registration open to anyone: September 14th 2006
* “Landrush†Period, open to anyone but with added cost: August 28th to September 10th 2006
* “Regular†Sunrise: June 12th to August 21st 2006
* “Industry†Sunrise: May 22nd to May 29th 2006
2. Fees (eurodns)
* Registration open to anyone: € 24 /year (2 years minimum, ex. VAT)
* “Landrush†Period, open to anyone but with added cost: € 38 /year (2 years minimum, ex. VAT)
* “Regular†Sunrise: € 164 /year (2 years minimum ex. VAR)
* “Industry†Sunrise: € 164 /year (2 years minimum, ex. VAT)
3. General Rules
* .Mobi Registrations, whatever the category, are subject to the “First Come, First Served†principle.
* .Mobi Registrations are available to companies and individuals of each category without any geographic limitation.
4. Disputes
* Disputes on Domain Names Registered during the Sunrise Period are subject to specific Rules established by mTLD and WIPO.
* Disputes on Domain Names Registered after the Sunrise Period are subject to UDRP rules set in place by ICANN.
